We are RUSH Facilities, a division of RUSH Construction, an employee-owned local General Contractor in Brevard County, and we are looking for an ambitious Landscaping Technician to assist in our Grounds Keeping department. SUMMARY

Perform a range of diverse grounds-keeping tasks to enhance and maintain the aesthetic appeal of the facility.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Note: Other duties may be assigned requiring skills of a similar or less demanding nature.)


Ensure a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for facility customers and personnel.

Keep sidewalks, driveways, stairways, and the garage free of debris, and ensure trash receptacles are empty.

Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the appearance of the grounds and buildings.

Operate facility-owned Engineering vehicles.

Operate powered lawnmowers, including cutting steeply graded areas.

Plant, weed, cultivate, and spread mulch in landscaped areas. Prepare holes and trenches for installing posts, conduits, etc.

Trim and prune shrubbery and trees.

Remove snow from all public areas using shovels, blowers, or plows during inclement weather, and maintain safety with sand and salt application.

Assist department personnel as directed by the supervisor.

Detect and report defective materials and unusual conditions to the supervisor.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.

Adhere to standard safety regulations.

Respond to all facility emergency codes.


RESPONSIBILITIES/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Report any violations of OSHA Regulations to the supervisor.

Notify the supervisor of any project-related problems or delays.

Report defective materials, equipment malfunctions, and unusual incidents to the supervisor and appropriate personnel.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Prior landscaping experience is desirable.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, is essential. The ability to communicate with tradesmen, peers, supervisors, and customers is required.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are necessary. Understanding concepts such as diameter, radius, and circumference is also required.


REASONING ABILITY

Candidates should possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and their safe and efficient operation.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

A valid driver's license is required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees must meet the physical demands of this role, including the ability to work in varying environmental conditions within OSHA and other jurisdictional regulations. This includes lifting a minimum of fifty (50) pounds safely and performing the expected range of motions for grounds work. Work may involve standing, sitting, crouching, or lying prone while using hand and power tools. Communication, both verbally and through hearing, is essential. Vision requirements include the ability to see close work, distance, depth perception, and adapt to changing light conditions.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position may involve exposure to hot (up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit) and cold (down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit) environments for short periods with appropriate protective equipment. Humid and wet environments may also be encountered. Transitioning between job sites within the environment may require bending, crawling, and climbing while ensuring safety.


Must be able to obtain security clearance.
