As the Palliative Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for answering the phones, speaking with patients and their family members, and administrative duties.


Business Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Location: 986 Tibbetts Wick Rd, Girard, OH 44420

As a Palliative Medical Assistant, you will:

  • Track referrals on Palliative Log
  • Manage Patient Information Log and provider spreadsheets
  • Conduct reminder calls to patients
  • Handle scheduling for providers
  • Answer phones and send messages to providers as needed
  • Enter patients into currently used portals
  • Notify providers when patients are in the hospital, when they are getting discharged, or getting transferred
  • Call Doctor offices and facilities for office notes and labs as requested by providers
  • Send weekly schedule to receptionist to co-ordinate Homecare visits
  • Complete chart review/medical records requests as needed
  • Build and maintain patient's charts
  • Perform other duties as required


Qualifications:

  • Medical Background strongly preferred
  • Must have High School education
  • Must have a minimum of six months office experience
  • Must possess typing and clerical skills
  • Must have a criminal background check


Job Conditions:

  • At times, there are deadlines that must be met
  • It is primarily a desk position which involves sitting, standing, stooping, and walking
  • This position requires minimal lifting of office records and printouts
  • The ability to read 12 point and larger type is required
  • One must be able to hear adequately on the telephone with no more than an amplifier and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing in English
  • Must be able to utilize a PC, calculator, multi-line telephone, and other related office equipment
