Job Summary

WICZ-TV – Fox 40 News is looking for a Director/Technical Director to join our award-winning news team in Binghamton, NY. The company is owned by Imagicomm Communications. WICZ is an equal-opportunity employer.

Position profile

· Who does the position report to? News Director

· What are the key responsibilities of the role? Direct and technical direct the weekday 6 & 10 p.m. newscasts

Job Duties

· Use Ross Carbonite Ultra, Tria Duet Express, Xpression, and Inception to create and technical direct live news broadcasts

· Supervise and oversee the production crew and oversee cross training

· Work closely with news staff and news director to execute broadcasts

· Design relevant graphics for use in broadcasts

· Regularly perform maintenance on broadcast equipment

· Occasionally assist with other tasks related to the position, which may include website contribution, video editing, or writing

· Must have experience calling and punching newscasts

· Experience with news production standards and equipment

· Ability to think quickly under pressure and to clearly give direction under pressure

· Knowledge of Ross ecosystem required (Ross Carbonite Ultra, Tria Duet Express, Xpression, and Inception)

· Experience operating audio, teleprompter, CG/Graphics, and a video server

· Experience with NewTek Tricaster

· Knowledge of virtual sets strongly desired

· Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

· Typing and good spelling skills necessary

· College degree preferred but experience okay

Salary: $18/Hour
