Job Description

The Operations Manager overseeing the SEMI facility reports to Site Leader and is a key customer contact for the warehousing facility. There are also tasks related to an additional offsite storage facility in Jonesville, IN.  Responsible for successful day-to-day management of safety, delivery, and inventory accuracy.  Coordinates the flow within the facility to ensure customer delivery goals are met.  The Operations Manager must successfully adhere to the organization’s level of customer service based on corporate mission and values.  Includes budgetary / financial responsibility for their assigned area. Ensures daily/weekly/monthly reporting is completed and accurate and be able to present to executive customer contacts. Oversight of around 9 EE's, including 1 CDL Class A driver.

Essential Functions: 

  • Customer satisfaction through on-time delivery of product and information – 24/7.
  • Must have a proven track record of upholding and enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Must participate in daily/weekly/monthly leadership meetings and act as a liason for the site who cascades information appropriately. 
  • Responsible for 100% On-Time delivery of product every hour, every day. 
  • Manages warehousing operations within company policies and procedures.  
  • Manages material flow within warehouse/store locations.
  • Ensures accuracy and addresses issues within the shipping and receiving process. 
  • Maintains and tracks warehouse budget and expenses. 
  • Maintains delivery window and frequency to customer’s requirements.
  • Accountable for cycle counting/inventory accuracy. 
  • Establishes and maintains a positive customer relationship. 
  • Conducts employee performance reviews. 
  • Participates in developing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP). 
  • Must have a proven track record of upholding and enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for safety, quality and driving improvements within the facility. 
Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office production and inventory management systems (APICS certification, a plus) 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Team-oriented Capability to meet deadlines and deal with emergencies 
  • Must be available to adjust schedule if business need requires
  • Must have strong relationship building skills to meet customer expectations and establish excellent customer rapport
  • Ability to lead and coach effectively 
  • Must have the ability to analyze data and process flows 
  • Position requires great flexibility and availability due to varied work schedule 
  • High resistance to stress stemming from tight deadlines and unexpected situations 
  • Willing to work cross functionally 
  • Able to work effectively with varied levels of management and individual contributors 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Must have a continuous improvement mindset and drive improvements to the site
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt a plus 
  • Knowledge of quality management systems – ISO 9001:2000 certification 
  • Knowledge of warehouse systems
  • Basic knowledge of DOT regulations

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management or other related fields preferred
  • 5 years experience in a leadership role (with direct reports) in Operations or Warehousing preferred
