POSITION SUMMARY: As a Toddler Teacher at Rock Church & Academy's Early Education Center, you will embody a daily commitment to nurturing toddlers and fostering strong family relationships while integrating Christian values into every aspect of care. This full-time, twelve-month position focuses on providing a safe, educational, and nurturing environment for toddlers aged 12-24 months. You will collaborate with the director and fellow teachers to implement an age-appropriate curriculum that supports the holistic development of each child within a loving Christian atmosphere.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum in accordance with school philosophy and state licensing standards.
  • Providing constant supervision and ensuring the health and safety of up to 8 toddlers per room, in compliance with Title 22 regulations.
  • Maintaining communication with families and colleagues to uphold high standards of care.
  • Participating in professional development activities to enhance Early Childhood Education knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Spiritual:

  • Has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
  • Regularly attend Rock church or church of like faith.
  • Actively involved in church activities.
  • Must believe that the Bible is God's Word and the standard for faith and daily living.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Christian principles and acting as a role model in conduct and interactions.

Education & Experience:

  • Must have one of the following:
    • Bachelors of Science degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field.
    • Completed a minimum of 15 units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, along with at least one year experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care facility.
    • An AA degree with at least 15 units being in the field of Early Childhood Education, along with at least one year experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care facility.
    • A valid Children's Center Permit issued by the California Commission for Teaching Preparation and Licensing, along with at least one year experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care facility.
    • Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in English language skills (reading, writing, spelling, and communication).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and provide excellent customer service.
  • Emotional maturity and stability, coupled with enthusiasm for working with toddlers.
  • Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds and engaging in activities at toddler eye level.

  • Adherence to Title 22 state licensing regulations and teacher-to-child ratios.
  • Commitment to constant supervision and maintaining a safe learning environment.
  • Respect for leadership and adherence to school policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical agility to move about comfortably and interact with toddlers.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and engage in activities with toddlers.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to respond to children's needs and engage in conversations.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND SENSORY DEMANDS:

  • Ability to work in a busy, occasionally noisy environment with multiple activities occurring simultaneously.
  • Tolerance for environmental factors such as diapering smells and typical toddler behaviors (crying, yelling, laughing).

MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Capability to handle stress and respond to toddlers' needs sensitively and appropriately.
  • Preparedness to manage multiple tasks and respond to emergencies promptly.

Employee At-Will Statement: Employment at Rock Church & Academy is at-will, allowing termination at any time, with or without cause.


Licensing & Rock Academy Personnel Requirements:

All required state Department of Social Services Community Care licensing forms must be filled out and returned. These forms include:

  • Health Screening report
  • Personnel Record
  • Proof of negative TB skin test
  • Form 1-9
  • Child Abuse Index Check
  • Official College Transcripts
  • Live Scan Fingerprinting - cleared Employee Rights
  • Criminal Record

Comply with, and implement Title 22 state licensing regulations.

All Rock Church & Rock Academy personnel forms must be filled out and returned. These forms include:

  • Signed acknowledgement of Rock Academy Statement of Faith
  • Signed acknowledgement and adherence to Rock Church and Rock Academy policies, procedures, and employee handbook.

  • Social security verification
  • Local, state, and federal criminal conviction record search
