Civil Engineer/Project Manager

Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Civil Engineer/Project Manager with expertise in private sector land development projects to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of civil engineering projects, from initial concept to final completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, project management, and land development, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage all phases of civil engineering projects, including project planning, design, permitting, construction administration, and closeout. Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on land development projects, understanding their needs, objectives, and expectations. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, and provide regular updates on project status and progress.
- Design and Engineering: Prepare and oversee the preparation of civil engineering design plans, specifications, and drawings for land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure. Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Permitting and Approvals: Coordinate with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and other authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals for land development projects. Prepare permit applications, environmental assessments, and other documentation as required.
- Construction Administration: Provide oversight and support during the construction phase of projects, including contractor selection, bid evaluation, contract administration, and construction observation. Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and support staff, providing guidance, direction, and support to achieve project goals and objectives. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and professional growth.
- Quality Control: Implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of project deliverables. Review and approve engineering calculations, design documents, and construction plans to maintain high standards of quality and technical excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred, or eligibility to sit for PE exam.
- Minimum of 2-7 years of experience in civil engineering and project management, with a focus on private sector land development projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software required.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, land development processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities, with experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
