SUMMARY:

The Senior Quality Assurance Manager reports to the Director of Quality. This position is accountable for internal and external audits, qualification of suppliers and third-party programs, customer complaint investigation, responses, and tracking, and Process Authority, microbiological, and food safety program compliance. The role is expected to support the company's vision and actively manage key corporate quality programs resulting in high achievement in Safety, Sanitation, Quality, and Efficiency.

With the support of the Director of Quality, the Senior Quality Assurance Manager develops the programs, policies, and procedures to ensure quality conformances and food safety practices for the Organization. This position owns the Approved Supplier and Monitoring Program through collaboration with R&D and Purchasing to ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements, consisting of raw material suppliers, third-party warehouse partners, and co-packing and co-manufacturing partners. This position conducts thorough and careful analysis of data, gathers critical information, and effectively allocates resources required to achieve Corporate Quality Assurance goals and objectives. Promotion of a culture of proactivity and continuous improvement of quality and food safety systems in the Organization is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages supplier/co-man/co-pack qualification activities to ensure compliance and ongoing continuous improvement
  • Conducts 2nd party audits for suppliers, forward warehouses, Co-Packers, and Co-Manufacturers
  • Support plant audit preparation with each facility's Operational Site QA Manager. Available during 2nd and 3rd party audits for support and guidance to ensure audit success.
  • Leads Corporate Internal Auditing Program and team. Executes training for sub-committee members and reviews audit summaries and CAPA responses for adequacy and completion
  • Manages the customer complaint program
  • Manages the Divisional Process Authority review and re-qualification
  • Manages the Divisional food fraud program
  • Manages the Divisional allergen validation program
  • Manages the Divisional environmental monitoring program
  • Works with the Commercialization Team and facilitates cross-functional teamwork to ensure successful product launches
  • Responsible for Training Quality Management and Key Stakeholders in Quality Assurance Programs, Policies, and Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • A minimum of a B.S. in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. Professional experience will also be considered.
  • 8+ Years of Quality Leadership experience
  • 5+ Years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with direct exposure to food or dietary supplement processing.
