Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary:

The stock control associate is responsible for accurately and safely putting material away within the warehouse. The Stock Control Associate also provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.


Essential Functions:
  • Primarily responsible for putting away, in the correct bin location, all material received using the TWL system and labeling as needed.
  • Responsible for accurately and efficiently moving inventory lots through the facility in accordance with all safety standards.
  • Move and sort materials and items from receiving or storage areas to other designated areas according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Use and understand the RF gun to scan items to determine put away location.
  • Keep the area clean and organized.
  • Perform all work in accordance with all Porter Family Company safety rules and procedures.
  • May operate forklift, or other warehouse equipment, in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
  • Adheres to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Requires the ability to effectively build rapport with both internal and external customers.
  • Requires a positive attitude and ability to function both independently and in a team setting.
  • Must possess basic mathematical aptitude.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
  • Must be able to communicate in English with regard to the essential functions of the position.


Required Experience and Education:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of prior warehouse experience.
  • Prior forklift experience preferred, but not required.


Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50 lbs.
  • Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
  • Requires the ability to stand and walk long distances for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and elements, noise, and fumes.
