Structural Component Systems, Inc. of Fremont, NE is actively seeking a wall panel estimator responsible for providing estimates in MiTek software for residential and/or commercial structures. This exempt-level position works can be remote anywhere in the USA, or work from our Omaha, Nebraska Office or Urbandale, Iowa Office, with typical hours Monday - Friday, 45 hours/week. Job Description:

The Estimator is responsible for the accurate estimation of wall panels needed in single-family, multi-family, commercial and agricultural projects, according to engineered and designed plans. The Estimator is responsible for the accurate costing of roof and floor truss components for the above mentioned projects. Works under general supervision; exercises judgment on work priority on a regular basis.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years building material estimating or design experience in both roof and walls combined.
  • Prepare bid & reference information utilizing MiTek, and other design related software.
  • Optimize designs for accurate costing.
  • Review takeoffs and calculations for accuracy.
  • Assist sales with clear information presentation
  • Broad knowledge of roof and floor system building materials and willingness to learn new products.
  • Communicate effectively with all organizational levels and customer representatives.
  • Provide problem solving solutions using Building Codes and product information.
  • Prepare detailed construction proposals from customer blueprints for customer presentation.
  • Assist in training and development of other estimators as required.
  • Minimum high school graduate. Preferred bachelor degree in related discipline or equivalent.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills / Ability:

  • Ability to read and understand blue prints.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to use a computer terminal, and proficiency of the use of MiTek and other business / design related software.
  • Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, including customers, peers and management.
  • Ability to manage several activities/projects at once, to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time, to be mobile in the work environment, and work hours mandated by management.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Self managing, works well under little supervision.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Good interpersonal skills and good communicator.
  • Team player, support the company's goals and objectives, in a professional manner.
