Bollinger Motors is seeking a Tool/Fixture Maintenance & Repair Technician to assist with low to medium scale industrial production by maintaining the operational readiness of all final assembly equipment and participate in cross-functional teams with the operations, manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams. This position reports to the Advanced Manufacturing Manager and is an in-person role at the company’s contract manufacturing site located in Livonia, MI.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives to improve future equipment.
  • Support all assembly equipment breakdowns and coordinate repair work.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts via root cause analysis.
  • Work closely with operations to improve equipment uptime by reducing MTBF & MTTR to improve the overall reliability and safety of assembly equipment.
  • Maintain spare parts lists for equipment and identify critical spare quantities required to support production.
  • Responsible for power tools, hand tooling, ergo arms, fixtures and miscellaneous production and maintenance equipment.
  • Familiarity with Atlas Copco, Cleco, SCS, and Sturtevant Richmont.
  • Strong automotive manufacturing skills and ability to lead cross functional teams.
  • Assist in troubleshooting process and machine issues.
  • Lead process to share and deploy best practices for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Develop/ maintain standard manufacturing / quality documentation (PFMEA, Control Plan, Bill of Process, Functional Safety, etc.) for core processes.
  • Receive, read, and understand complex design specifications.
  • Experience with low to medium scale production.
  • Ability to handle intense deadlines and quick changes to plans.
Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of maintenance experience in the automotive industry. Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment (hydraulic & Pneumatic), as well as general electrical circuits.
  • Knowledge with Fluid systems (Pneumatic hydraulic, coolant, and lubrication
  • Knowledge of torque tooling (Cleco, Atlas Copco, Sturtevant Richmont, Estic)
  • Knowledge of dimensional fixtures, lift assists, hoists, and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of EOL Equipment (DVT, Roll Test Machine, Hunter alignment, Flashing)
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products; excel, word, outlook, etc.
  • Working knowledge of 2D (AutoCAD) and floor layouts.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with multiple teams.
  • Possess strong continuous improvement mindset and drive for results.
