Job Description

Job Overview: The Medical Technologist is responsible for analyzing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results. This role requires a deep understanding of medical laboratory procedures, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform a variety of laboratory tests on patient samples using automated and manual methods.
  2. Analyze and interpret test results to provide accurate and reliable information to clients.
  3. Ensure the proper collection, handling, and preservation of specimens.
  4. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance.
  5. Follow established protocols and procedures to maintain the integrity of laboratory results.
  6. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Stay updated on advancements in medical laboratory technology and incorporate new techniques as appropriate.
  8. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  9. Assist in the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other staff members.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  2. Strong knowledge of medical laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing laboratory tests.
  7. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
  8. Familiarity with laboratory information systems and proficiency in computer skills.
  9. Current knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.

Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred but not mandatory for highly qualified candidates.



Additional Information

Position is full-time Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm, with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Louisville, KY are encouraged to apply.
