**Position Overview: **
As a Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with various HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration. You will work closely with the management team and cross-functional departments to ensure alignment with company policies, procedures, and best practices.
**Key Responsibilities: **
* Supporting the other managers from an HR standpoint.
* Coordinate recruitment efforts, including job postings, resume screening, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
* Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization.
* Assist with employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
* Support HR administration tasks, such as maintaining employee records, updating HR systems, and generating reports.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
* Partner with the leadership to build team member capability through talent development, training programs and strategies, performance management, succession, and inclusion. Build internal and external pipelines where practical to ensure a sustainable bench of growing and ready-now talent across all functions including finance, sales, and service.
* Assist with employee training and development initiatives, including coordination of training programs and workshops.
* Stay updated on relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all HR practices.
* Oversee employee benefit program responsibilities by directing the administration of the group and ancillary insurance plans and 401k plans. Analyze existing benefits policies of the organization and prevailing practices among similar organizations to establish competitive benefits programs. Recommend benefit plan changes to management to maintain competitive market position for recruiting and retention. Work in concert with Finance and support staff to ensure accuracy, satisfactory results, and cost control for the Company as well as affordable and meaningful plans for employees.
* Ensure the audit and consistent application of and compliance with HR and Company policies, processes, and systems, including Unemployment, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, ERISA, EEOC, OSHA, USERRA, among others.
* Perform related duties as required by L.B. Smith and its parent company, Smith Land & Improvement Corporation.
**Qualifications: **
* Previous experience in HR or related roles preferred.
* Prior experience in commercial automotive industry a plus
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
* Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* SHRM or HRCI certification a plus
