Do you have a passion for the creation of food and the packaging of food?
Our client has an opening for a Lab Technician. This position is accountable for Sample preparation, food safety and nutritional testing for components of commercial food products.
In this role you will:
- Facilitate analytical testing or sample preparation for dept and team members
- Support all laboratory testing needs on a weekly basis.
- Be involved w/ laboratory testing of food products for one or more attributes
- Perform the following laboratory skills - prepping of samples, accurate weighing, pipetting, and quantitative transfer of solutions and samples
- Provide support and flexibility related to the analysis of samples or preparation for Labs
- Document results and review data generated by LIMS or instrumentation to maximize output and meet deadlines
- Meet department quality expectations
- Comply w/ lab dept and ISO 17025 quality requirements
- Identify and address quality control issues
- Complete quality investigations in a thorough and timely manner
- Perform routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and other maintenance requirements
- Develop a strong knowledge of the analytical methods being trained on
- Maintain a work environment that complies w/ company safety rules
- Actively participate in customer and accreditation audits as needed
- Participate in continuous improvement of laboratory and team operations
- Other responsibilities as required by lab
Schedule: Sun Wed, 7am to 5pm (w/30 min lunch break)
Salary: $23/ hr (long term contract)
Location: "onsite" at client's location in Minneapolis, MN

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent Required
- Or Associate's or Bachelor's degree - Chemistry, Food Science, Biology or related science field Preferred
- Min 3-5 years of directly relatable experience Required
- Laboratory skills - prepping of samples, accurate weighing, pipetting, and quantitative transfer of solutions and samples
- Ability to work w/ care around hazardous compounds, preparation of solutions, and calculation of results
- Comfortable operating common lab equipment - basic troubleshooting and maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize workload and maintain workload
- Skills to be successful - excellent written/ verbal / interpersonal communication skills, ability to coordinate multiple tasks, positive attitude, excellent judgement and problem-solving skills, efficient, organized, attention to detail,
- Proficient w/ MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Collaborative Team Player
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable
- Ability to work a flex work schedule as needed
- Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
- The position is subject to passing a background check and drug screen
