Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWood River Health is now hiring a Dental Sterilization Technician The Dental Sterilization Technician is responsible for the cleaning and set up of dental operatories, sterilization of instruments and equipment. The Sterilization Technician maintains a clean and safe environment while promoting a positive image for Wood River Health.

Dental Sterilization Technician essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the standards of infection control, including disinfecting operatory surfaces, and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
  • Responsibilities include tasks such as sterilizing instruments & equipment, cleaning dental operatories, dental lab, and sterilization room(s), stocking rooms, patient intake, assisting clinical and admin staff when needed.
  • Organizes, maintains, and sets up treatment rooms, dental lab, sterilization areas and X-Ray equipment daily.
  • Completes maintenance duties, such as cleaning autoclaves, changing solutions, performing spore tests, etc.
  • Monitoring supply levels in each operatory and ordering when appropriate.
  • Reviewing and recording patients’ medical history.
  • Maintains records and reports in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
  • Becoming proficient with the navigation of NextGen.
  • Respects the rights of all patients and families.
  • Independently participates in continuing education programs.
  • Serves on WRH’ committees as assigned.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters
  • Operate within the scope of the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act to safeguard the privacy of protected patient health information
  • Enliven and support the mission, vision, and values of Wood River Health
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and Wood River Health Compliance Program Standards
  • Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively use MS Office Suite, Internet, and email
  • Cultural sensitivity necessary to work with a diverse patient and staff population

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:

  • CPR certification, preferred
