PVE, LLC is looking for a Structural Drafter in our Pittsburgh, PA office. This individual must be able to transform engineering and architectural sketches into working documents while utilizing computer aided drafting.
Job Summary
The Drafter is responsible for creating drawings, layouts, details, and bill of materials with an emphasis on structural systems. This would include the creation of shop drawings for cladding systems and installation drawings for temporary systems such as scaffolding, platforms, and containments. Role would require the ability to interpret existing structural and/or architectural drawings to aid in the creation of new structural drawings
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed structural drawings and plans using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and clients to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Review and interpret structural designs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design changes and revisions.
- Assist in the preparation of structural reports and presentations.
- Conduct site visits to gather data and ensure that drawings reflect actual site conditions.
- Support project teams in troubleshooting design issues and finding creative solutions.
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
- Adhere to all Structural Group Accountability as listed within Appendix A.
Requirements/Education/Skills/Qualifications
- Experience and proficiency with Autodesk’s Revit
- High School Diploma, CSSD, or GED with certification from technical school or program in Computer Aided Drafting. (minimum)
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or Engineering Technology (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and passion for precision. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project demands.
