Currently we are looking for an Overnight Hotel Valet Attendant who is available to work overnights on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in downtown Newport, Rhode Island.

  • Earn $17/hour + tips
  • Wednesday - Sunday
  • 11pm to 7am

Job Responsibilities And Main Duties:


At UPP, Valet Parking Attendants play a vital role in the success of our company and the hotels where we provide our premier auxiliary service. Valet Attendants are the first to greet and welcome our clients and guests, and the last people they’ll interact with upon departure. Because impressions are everything in hospitality, a pleasant, friendly, and professional attitude are of the utmost importance Maintaining excellence in this role is the essence of the UPP Guest Experience; a core value in our company's brand. Being spirited and fast on your feet is a major credit to the person in this role, as is projecting a warm, pleasant demeanor in all interactions. Arriving on time for shifts and taking responsibility for your designated tasks are tremendous indicators of a highly-valued team member at UPP and this essential characteristic to a promotion to a supervisory role.


Primary Job Duties:

  • Greet and welcome guests, holding their door for them, help by answering questions and directing them to check-in
  • Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, parkers, co-workers, and clients
  • Provide exceptional hospitality services to all guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner ("The Guest Experience")
  • Be responsible for parking and retrieving guests vehicles in a prompt yet safe manner. Carefully navigate "hot zones" - Unique to each location, these spots have heightened risk of damage = liability.
  • Assist guests with bell service, directions, taxis, reservations, information about meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility and other inquiries as needed
  • Assist guests with luggage, including delivery and pick up of guest luggage during arrival and departure
  • Transport guests via the hotel shuttle service
  • Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Know and maintain best practices in security and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor

  • Must be comfortable standing, walking, running, driving and being active for most of the day
  • Must provide excellent customer service
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination, as driving is required for a duration of the shift
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds
  • Must possess a current drivers’ license and maintain an acceptable driving record
  • Must have a good work ethic and be a team player. Lead by Example.
  • Must maintain a groomed, professional appearance, following the uniform guidlines. (Look good, Feel Good, Law of Attraction)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and willing to undergo a criminal background check and motor vehicle report (MVR) check
  • Manual Transmission a plus - Not required upon hire. Inquire with us at any time about various options for training in this area.
  • Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, parkers, co-workers, and clients.
