Assistant Manager – Site Services

Position Summary:

Due to tremendous growth, Morgan Engineering is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team in the Brownstown, MI area.

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Manager to help lead our service team and manage all activities related to the crane business. The ideal candidate will assist in providing direction to branch employees and support the branch manager in achieving operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in hiring and managing all staff members, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Collaborate with the branch manager to set yearly sales goals and work toward achieving them
  • Lead the team to make decisions that improve workplace, company, marketplace, and customer satisfaction
  • Assist in managing fleet, shop operations, trucking, and administrative areas
  • Oversee the purchasing of small rental fleet and crane parts
  • Manage customer billings and account levels, ensuring accurate and timely billing
  • Organize and control the yard to maintain an efficient and safe working environment
  • Work with the branch manager to ensure the branch remains profitable
  • Ensure equipment availability and timely delivery to meet customer needs
  • Monitor pickups to ensure no pickup is left too long
  • Run daily and weekly reports (e.g., upcoming inspections and repairs) • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned by management • Safety management:
    1. Assist in managing the branch-level safety program, ensuring all policies and procedures are enforced
    2. Adhere to and enforce all safety rules and policies
    3. Maintain a clean and clutter-free shop and equipment staging area o Comply with hazardous material law II series procedures
    4. Ensure overhead cranes, floor jacks, compressors, welding carts, fire extinguishers, etc., are inspected and documented regularly
    5. Enforce personal protective equipment rules and regulations o Ensure all ANSI and DOT inspections are completed with 0 days late

Qualifications:

  • Four (4) year degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with heavy and light-duty equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent people and management skills
  • Knowledge of overhead cranes
