Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers in the Richmond area is an expanding, locally-owned automotive service provider with four full-service locations in Chesterfield and Hanover Counties.  We are looking for an experienced Automotive Technician / State Inspector for our Mechanicsville location.  We pay based on experience and offer strong sign-on bonuses for the right candidates. We employ experienced, certified technicians trained to provide premium total-car care, and we use state-of-the-art equipment and premium parts to ensure the quality of our work. Job Description

The Automotive Technician, reporting to the Store and Service Managers, is responsible for performing basic and advanced car maintenance and repair tasks, inspecting vehicles for potential problems, and troubleshooting issues to ensure the vehicle is performing appropriately and the customer is taken care of.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to): 

  • Application of in-depth automotive repair knowledge
  • Provide service of the highest quality to our customers
  • Perform skilled mechanical and diagnostic work
  • Inspect, replace, and/or repair defective parts while performing preventative maintenance on automobiles
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

Brake Service & Repair - Serpentine, V-Belts, or Timing Belts - Radiator & Heater Hoses - Comprehensive Warranty - Alignments - Computerized Diagnostics - Shocks & Struts - A/C Diagnostics, Recharge & Repair - Lights & Wiper Blades - Tire Rotation & Balance - Air Filters & Fuel Filters - State Inspections - Water Pumps, Radiators & Heater Cores - Fuel Pump Replacement - Fuel Injection Service & Repair - Electronic Ignition Repair - C.V. Axle Replacement - Batteries, Starters & Alternators - Fuel Pump Replacement - Tune-Ups - General Engine Repairs

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of three years of automotive service, automotive mechanic, and/or engine diagnostic experience in a professional capacity
  • A self-starter personality with a positive attitude and team-focused
  • Superior communication skills emphasizing INTEGRITY first
  • Desire to build long-term trust with our customers
  • A State Inspection license is required
  • ASE Certification is preferred
  • Experience in after-market shops
  • Must have your own technician tools and toolbox
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
  • Ability to operate and drive vehicles
  • Willingness to work Saturdays

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, and bending
  • At time, exerting 50 - 100 lbs of force occasionally and/or 10 - 25 lbs of force frequently and/or greater than 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects
  • Requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials
