Trailer Mechanic

Seeking a Trailer Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Apopka, FL.

This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k  

Pay is between $18 - $30 per hour (based on experience) Overtime pay/bonus available

The mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on Dry Van Trailers, Flatbed Trailers, and Reefer Trailers.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and filter replacements on Dry Van Trailers, Flatbed Trailers, and Reefer Trailers.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of trailers.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify and address any safety concerns or potential issues that may affect the performance and reliability of the trailers.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Collaborate with the Parts Department to order necessary parts and ensure the availability of required supplies to complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with drivers, dispatchers, and other team members to understand and address their concerns or issues regarding the trailers.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably working on Dry Van Trailers, Flatbed Trailers, and Reefer Trailers.
• Proficient in using various hand and power tools necessary for trailer repairs and maintenance.
• Solid understanding of safety regulations and protocols related to trailer maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
