JOB TITLE: Residential Aide - Kitchen Manager

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Nonexempt Full-time

DEPARTMENT: Catholic Social Services, McAuley House

Housing & Homeless Services Division

REPORTS TO: Program Supervisor


A residential aide is responsible for the safety and well-being of the residents during the evening, overnight, and weekend hours. They work to maintain order and structure in the house and always hold the residents accountable to the rules and policies of McAuley House.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fully comprehends, articulates, and reflects in job performance the mission and philosophy of McAuley House.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of kitchen and dining room cabinets.
  • Prepare a list for food shopping, maintain an inventory of program foods and supplies, and maintain a bi-weekly menu.
  • Responsible for writing reports to the case manager and Program Supervisor regarding residents, incidents, and concerns.
  • Responsible for replenishing all bathroom and kitchen supplies.
  • Be available for monthly food pickup from OHS Food Bank and drop-off deliveries as required.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including laundering rugs, shower curtains, and other linens. Clean and sanitize bathrooms, mop kitchen floor, dining room floor, and hallways, and sanitize banisters.
  • Observe residents as they take their medication and log in as instructed.
  • Perform urine bi-weekly urine tests.
  • Perform monthly fire and safety drills as required.
  • Complete daily shift reports and take note of anything broken or missing.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and educational in-services.
  • Other duties as directed.
  • Conduct monthly fire drills and safety plans.

Competent decision-making skills

Ability to respond appropriately to delicate crises

Good interpersonal skills

Understand the issues of women living with HIV

Ability to apply and enforce rules and regulations


Qualifications


High school diploma or equivalent

Experience working with women living with HIV, mental health, and drug/alcohol issues

Basic cooking skills

Able to lift 30lbs

Driver's licenses
