Responsibilities:

  • Technician Management:
    • Understand the skills, strengths, and weaknesses of the field technicians.
    • Dispatch field technicians based on their suitability for the job.
    • Provide all necessary information to field technicians.
    • Dispatch only one call at a time.
    • Debrief each call before dispatching the technician and update the tally sheet appropriately.
  • Reporting:
    • Create a weekly written report to the Service Manager summarizing interactions with field technicians.
    • Provide a weekly tally sheet report to the Sales Manager.
    • Review technicians' strengths with Management on a weekly basis.
  • Scheduling and Organization:
    • Organize the On-Call schedule for technicians.
    • Input leads into the computer system and relay information to system specialists as needed.
    • "Time Stamp" field technicians for dispatch, arrival, and completion times in the computer system; verify time cards.
    • Contact customers prior to dispatch to ensure their presence and method of payment via phone or email.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Schedule:
    • Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
    • Rotating Saturdays.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with internal teams and customers.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Good computer skills.
    • Knowledge of common office applications such as MS Word, MS Excel.
    • Experience with one or more dispatch systems.
  • Multitasking and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Demonstrated ability to multitask in an intense, dynamic environment.
    • Good interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular and routine activities include sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, using hands to handle controls, hearing, and talking.
  • This job will require sitting for long periods and using a computer keyboard.
  • Frequent reaching with hands and arms is required.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (review and modify this weight as appropriate).
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is fast-paced and intense.
  • The noise level is usually moderate but will vary occasionally.
  • Employees will be subjected to continual interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Effective, consistent, and constant communication with customers, vendors, co-workers, and others is required.
