The Camp Thunderbird YMCA is currently seeking Belay Instructors to teach and assist at our high ropes activities. This position will pay $13 to $15 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

DUTIES

Direct responsibilities include providing adventure programs that teach technical rock climbing skills and safety, lead participants through adventure games and various other activities. The Instructor will also manage and maintain cleanliness of equipment, build and relationships with all staff and program participants, and participate in program activities and meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Training for belay instruction on our high ropes elements will be provided. To be certified you must attend this training. Candidates must be certified in AED, CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment.

Extended periods of time will be spent standing. Frequent lifting and carrying of equipment will be necessary; candidates should be able to lift and carry 75 lbs.
