Role Overview:

This position, under the direction of the Facility Manager, with input from the Sr. Compliance, Risk & Safety Manager, performs a variety of preventative maintenance and handyman repairs to buildings and equipment. Attends written work orders for general building repairs. Plans, organizes, prioritizes, and delegates job assignments. The Maintenance Lead purchases parts and supplies for repairs and oversees contracted projects. Perform periodic preventative maintenance inspections of buildings and equipment. Work with the Compliance Department to conduct safety inspections of buildings, initiate a course of action, and provide documentation.

Exemplary Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Performs advanced building and equipment repairs, including electrical, lighting, plumbing, air conditioning, concrete, painting, installations, and repairs.
  • Construction duties include stud framing, electrical and plumbing installations, gypsum wall boarding, door, window, hardware installation, vinyl composition, and ceramic floor tile installations.
  • Drives company vehicles to job sites and picks up repair parts and supplies.
  • Inspect emergency systems, including fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and actuated lighting systems.
  • Procures bids for contractor repairs and coordinates projects.
  • Monitors the purchase of paints, solvents, and chemicals for maintaining MSDS logs.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Maintenance Lead Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years of working experience or schooling in a related field.
  • Able to stand and walk up to 7 hours per day.
  • Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have a valid CA Driver’s License, clean DMV printout; and be insurable to drive company vehicle.
  • Must have building construction, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting knowledge.
  • Knowledge of air conditioning systems with a 608 EPA or electrical certification is helpful.
  • Must know how to operate all power repair tools safely and effectively.
  • Able to read technical schematics and building floor plans.
  • Able to follow complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Able to perform all tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Group orientated and can work closely with others.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Able to work with a diversified population and people with barriers to employment.
  • Able to work efficiently, safely, and in a cost-effective manner.
  • Able to follow instructions and operate with minimal supervision.
