SCOPE OF WORK: Directs and manages student registration, scheduling and academic records and information systems and maintains the security, integrity , accuracy of all student academic records. This position shall report to the Vice President of Academic & Workforce Education of NHTI – Concord’s Community College
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervises the operations and staff of the Registrar's Office including, but not limited to; strategic planning, developing work procedures and policies, and the hiring, training, managing, and evaluating of staff;
- Oversees the implementation of academic policies and guidelines as they impact on student records and the dissemination of information, counsels students, faculty, and department heads on academic requirements and various Institutional, State and Federal policies and procedures;
- Certifies and verifies student status to all agencies and compiles enrollment data and reports for distribution to internal and external agencies;
- Maintains current knowledge of federal regulations as it relates to certification of student educational Veteran's Administration benefits (Registrar is a V.A. Certifying Officer) and other military education benefits;
- Maintains, builds and adjusts the academic-specific modules in the database, including catalog, scheduling, registration, grades, degree audit, academic history. Establishes, updates, and maintains control forms in computer system which generate all tuition charges and various fees assessed to student accounts;
- Processes petition-to-graduate forms and performs audit on all candidates to verify that all degree, professional certificate and certificate requirements have been met, coordinates commencement protocols and procedures, and awards degrees to all graduates;
- Determines student eligibility for Dean's List, Honors, High Honors, Phi Theta Kappa membership, athletic eligibility (Institutional and USCAA, where appropriate);
- Responsible for submitting enrollment and degree reports to the National Student Clearinghouse to ensure compliance.
- Coordinates collection of Class Rosters, Final Grades, Mid-Term Warnings. Provides reports for Academic Standards review. Processes decisions regarding students academic status (suspension, probation, dismissal).
- Complies with all system, state, and federal rules and regulations including, but not limited to, health and safety policies, the NH Policy on Sexual Harassment, civil rights laws, and NH administrative rules.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in business administration, education, computer science, social science, or related field of study.
Experience: Five years of experience in an academic environment responsible for registering students and implementing academic policies and procedures.
License/Certification: None
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive knowledge and experience with a computerized integrated student records system. Experience in the use of PC based software, including word processing and spreadsheets.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Considerable knowledge of registration procedures and admissions policies at the Institute/College level. Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures. Knowledge of report preparation procedures. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form. Ability to work with and maintain security of confidential material. Ability to supervise an office staff. Ability to perform detailed work, involving written or numerical data and make arithmetic calculations rapidly and accurately. Ability to conduct studies and analysis contributing to sound operational procedures. Ability to understand and carry out complex written and oral instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, students, public and private agencies and the general public. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
