We are currently seeking a Lead Fabrication Associate to join our growing team. This position reports directly to the shop Foreman. The Lead Fabrication Associate is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of +/- 10 fabricators at any given time ensuring daily goals are completed on time and to the highest standards.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently leads the daily operations of the fabrication line by following the daily schedule, creating an action plan, and coordinating work activities with other areas to effectively execute the goals set for the day.
  • Works closely with management to ensure proper priority of work is performed.
  • Maintains Hour-by-Hour chart.
  • Inspects work performed to guarantee adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
  • Trains, mentors and develops crew members promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Addresses and resolves any issues or conflicts promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensures that all equipment and tools are used properly and kept in good working condition.
  • Performs direct work demonstrating the ability to perform any of the various operations within the group as necessary.
  • Participates, and as required leads Continuous Improvement Teams.
  • Cooperates in safety programs, initiatives and investigations. Ensures compliance with all safety procedures.
  • Participates in clean-up responsibilities and ensures crew maintains daily good housekeeping practices at workstations and throughout the shop according to 5S procedures.
  • Inspires others to improve.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as required.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in construction and/or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to accept and apply feedback and directives from supervisors and other team members.
  • Strong leadership, communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in both hand and power tools.
  • Ability to influence others and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques, materials and methods of installation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic.

  • Experience in piece work fabrication.
  • Experience with sheet metal.
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment promoting a teamwork mentality.
