Summary:
We are seeking a skilled OSP Engineer with experience in VETRO FiberMap to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing outside plant fiber optic networks. This role requires a thorough understanding of fiber optic network design, construction, and maintenance, as well as proficiency with VETRO FiberMap software.
Responsibilities:
- Design and plan fiber optic networks, including route analysis, network topology, and detailed engineering.
- Utilize VETRO FiberMap for creating and managing fiber optic network designs, maps, and documentation.
- Conduct field surveys to collect data for network design and as-built documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
- Oversee the construction and implementation of fiber optic networks to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network design and deployment.
- Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all projects and network changes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in OSP engineering and fiber optic network design.
- Proficiency with VETRO FiberMap software is required.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic network components, installation techniques, and industry standards.
- Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.
- Knowledge of permitting and regulatory requirements for fiber optic network construction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to conduct field surveys as needed.
