About the Role:

  • Develop detailed drawings, plans, and specifications for concrete pipe products using CAD software.
  • Assist in the design and development of new concrete pipe products, collaborating with engineering and production teams.
  • Generate technical drawings that include dimensions, materials, and other specifications required for manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand design requirements and incorporate feedback.
  • Ensure that drawings and designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines.
  • Maintain and update drawing files, managing revisions and version control.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation related to design changes, specifications, and project details.
  • Work with production and procurement teams to allocate materials and resources based on design specifications.
  • Identify and address design-related issues or challenges, proposing solutions to improve efficiency and functionality.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on design requirements and project timelines.
  • Ensure that all designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Stay updated on CAD software advancements and industry best practices, incorporating improvements into design processes.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or a minimum of two years CAD experience, along with knowledge of standard drawing practices.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel
  • Must possess strong mathematical skills.
  • Able to read and understand civil and structural construction plans.
  • Prior experience with precast concrete structures, state DOT projects, or water/wastewater treatment projects a plus.
  • Must be comfortable and able to perform the duties of this position effectively in a fast-paced, ever changing business environment with ongoing, and often competing, project deadlines.
  • Ability to independently manage projects, gathering all information, materials and authorizations.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and a passion for solving problems; anticipating and preventing errors.
  • Must work and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals from executives to production employees in order to gather information and authorizations critical to the success of the work process.
  • Provide mature and balanced decisions in an effort to prioritize between production demands, engineering projects and special assignments.
  • Have proven track record of excellence in organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing tasks and project priorities effectively.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to positively influence others, coupled with an optimistic attitude and commitment to get the job done on time and to specifications every time.
