Role Summary

The primary role of the Visual Media Specialist is to manage and enhance the visual communication elements crucial to the smooth operation of rehearsals, gatherings, and events within the organization. This multifaceted position involves overseeing the creation and execution of visual media such as slides for teaching, worship, announcements, and more. Attention to detail is paramount, ensuring the accuracy and quality of all visual content before rehearsals and events.


In addition to creating and managing slides, the Visual Media Specialist plays a pivotal role in training and supervising volunteers responsible for operating slides and video switchers during gatherings. Recording and archiving gatherings and events are also integral parts of the role, contributing to organizational memory and documentation.


Collaboration with the technical team is essential, particularly in maintaining and upgrading equipment related to slides, cameras, projection, and other media technologies. As technology evolves, the Visual Media Specialist is expected to grow in proficiency with tools like ProPresenter, Projection, and other relevant systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of visual media for all rehearsals, gatherings, and events
  • Create teaching, worship, announcement, and other slides
  • Maintain attention to detail, ensuring slide accuracy before rehearsals and events
  • Schedule, train, and care for media volunteers
  • Operate or supervise volunteers running slides and video switchers during gatherings
  • Record video of weekly gatherings and all events
  • Assist in maintaining and upgrading equipment for slides, cameras, projection, etc., under the direction of the technical director
  • Develop proficiency in ProPresenter, Projection, Media, and Video systems and technologies
  • Coordinate technical aspects for independent, non-Bridgetown events


Administration, Communication, and Other Duties:

  • Stay current with administrative and communication procedures
  • Coordinate technical requirements for independent (non-Bridgetown) events
  • Undertake special projects and assignments as assigned


Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Living within character qualifications of 1 Timothy 3v1-13
  • Understand and adhere to Bridgetown staff values, principles and policies
  • Vision-driven and action-orientated leader 
  • Experience delegating and managing a team or individual
  • Responsible, self-starter who is highly organized and takes initiative
  • Knowledge and experience using common computer programs and email
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • An inherent desire to achieve exceptional results
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence 
  • Self-starter who is well organized and proactive
  • Enthusiasm and passion to serve Bridgetown in any way needed


Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience working in ProPresenter 
  • Valid driver’s license and viable transportation

Required Capabilities:

Speech/Language - Must have strong command of the English language and be able to be clearly understood when speaking
