Position Summary: 

The Transport Supervisor oversees the transportation team and the facility at the Transportation Hub. The Transport Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all Empyreal Logistics standards are met in terms of customer service, professionalism, policies and procedures and safety. Responsible for ensuring that all routes are covered each day and that all Drivers safely return to the Hub after their route.


Reports To: 

The Transport Supervisor will report to the Branch Manager. 


Responsibilities and Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Schedule, dispatch, and deploy Drivers on assigned routes.
  • Accommodate clients' special requests in transport schedules.
  • Monitor vehicle movements using software.
  • Monitor and Supervise Drivers during their routes to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and security protocols.
  • Oversee accuracy of Driver timecard verifications for payroll.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager and Operations Manager on weather and road issues.
  • Notify managers of delays, issues, and important information in a timely manner.
  • Handle driver emergencies and vehicle issues promptly and notify Branch Managers.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, notifying managers promptly.
  • Conduct frequent driver meetings.
  • Evaluate and review staff performance.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding new drivers.
  • Recommend employee status changes.
  • Represent Empyreal as a logistics and customer service professional.
  • Adhere to dual verification, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean MVR report is required.
  • Experience managing teams of up to 5 people is preferred.
  • At least three years of dispatch / logistics experience is preferred. 
  • Must have interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. 
  • Working knowledge of computer and database systems is needed. 
  • Ability to operate and learn a variety of communication, navigation, and security systems is critical. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally, as needed
  • Be free of impairment of the use of foot, leg, hand, finger, or an arm, or other limitations likely to interfere with the ability to safely control and operate a vehicle
  • Sitting for prolonged periods
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks
  • Pushing or pulling
  • Reaching overhead, and at or below shoulder level
  • Repeating motions, which includes the wrist, hands, and/ or fingers
  • Stoop, crouch, or kneel
  • Near and far visual acuity
  • Use of stairs
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
