Job DescriptionJob Description

This position is responsible for providing direct patient care in a medical-surgical setting. In this position, you will be expected to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on a daily basis. You will also be responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing education to patients and their families. As a Med/Surg Nurse, you will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care possible.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and monitoring patients' conditions and vital signs
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Assisting doctors with procedures and surgeries
  • Documenting patients' medical histories and progress
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Providing emotional support and education to patients and their families
  • Ensuring patient safety and comfort
  • Managing and organizing patient care
  • Performing routine procedures, such as dressing changes and catheterizations
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Active LPN license
  • Proven experience as a med/surg nurse
  • Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize patient care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and weekends
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
  • Certification in med surg nursing
  • Continuing education in nursing
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Experience with patient assessment and care planning
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
