Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Location: jamaica, NY

Duration: 1 Year
Pay Range: USD $16.18/hr - USD $30.75/hr

Purpose:

The Chemistry Clinical Laboratory Technologist will perform various clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and analysis to provide accurate data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The technologist will ensure that all tests are performed according to established protocols and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Laboratory Testing: Conduct a variety of clinical laboratory tests in the chemistry department, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Sample Analysis: Analyze bodily fluids and tissues to identify normal and abnormal components.
  • Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and precision of test results.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately document all test results and maintain proper records as per regulatory standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other laboratory staff, physicians, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Training: Participate in the training and mentoring of junior laboratory staff and technologists.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest developments in clinical laboratory science and incorporate best practices into laboratory procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Chemistry Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in conducting a variety of clinical laboratory tests and procedures.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to accurately interpret test results and identify abnormalities.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively document and report findings.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with laboratory equipment and procedures.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Certifications: Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Techniques: Experience with advanced laboratory techniques and technologies.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of laboratory regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
