Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Project Estimator to expand our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates for roofing projects, from small businesses to large industrial complexes and government institutions. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial roofing systems and construction processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend bid walks and work with site inspectors to assess potential projects and gather essential information for accurate bidding.

  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and timeframes.

  • Create detailed project proposals and bid packages for client submission, ensuring compliance with specifications and building codes.

  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and services.

  • Collaborate with project managers and pre-construction teams to ensure project feasibility and cost efficiency.

  • Utilize advanced estimation software to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

  • Maintain communication with clients throughout the bidding process to address concerns and adjust proposals as needed.

  • Participate in project hand-off meetings, providing insights and clarifications regarding estimates and budgets.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project estimation, specifically in commercial roofing or construction.

  • Proficient with industry-specific software (e.g. Procore), and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to type 55-65 words per minute, minimum.

  • 10-key by touch preferred, but not required.

  • Strong knowledge of commercial roofing materials, techniques, and building regulations.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Superior communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Strong Computer Skills, and experience with web based applications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Professional certifications in Estimating or Project Management are a plus.
