ABOUT CARROLLWOOD FARMS

Carrollwood Farms is a family estate farm encompassing over 4,000 acres in Stokes and Rockingham Counties, North Carolina. We are dedicated to sustainable agriculture and operate various divisions, including vegetable farming, agronomy, construction, grounds maintenance, and soon, hospitality. We are passionate about giving back to the community, and in 2023, we donated over 2,200 pounds of fresh produce from our gardens.

Position Overview:

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Farm Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Carrollwood Farms. In this exciting role, you'll play a key role in maintaining and upgrading our electrical infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our farm. While your primary focus will be on electrical tasks, you'll also leverage your handyman skills to tackle a variety of projects under the direction of the Director of Construction.

This position is ideal for a licensed electrician with a passion for agriculture and a "can-do" attitude. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and the opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to sustainable farming practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance for new, existing, and expanding farm structures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues related to farm equipment and machinery.
  • Work with low voltage and IT wiring systems as needed.
  • Install and maintain electrical components for fixtures, including heaters and pool equipment.
  • Collaborate with local inspectors to ensure compliance with electrical codes.
  • Utilize your handyman skills for various tasks as directed by the Director of Construction, which may include carpentry, plumbing, or general maintenance projects.

Qualifications:

  • Valid North Carolina electrician's license.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of electrical wiring, including conduit bending, load balancing, and wiring larger-amp services.
  • Experience working with small-scale solar projects is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Positive attitude, commitment to safety, and a strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
