Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, passionate Chaplain to collaborate with our spiritual guidance team in creating a positive, supportive environment for people to develop and explore their own spiritualities. Our organization values the growth and comfort provided by religious investigation; your enthusiasm and experience may just be the perfect fit to help us create a holistic and nurturing environment, especially for those experiencing sudden changes, grief, or illness.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes and nurtures outside networks of members of the religious community to ensure specific spiritual and emotional needs of patients are addressed by appropriate ecclesiastical persons.
- Organizes and promotes religious services for patients, their families including, memorial services and coordinating bereavement needs.
- Provides emotional and spiritual care to staff.
- Meet with direct patient care staff prior to visiting with patient and family to understand scope of needs and how to support multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Organize and runs bereavement program.
- Ability to adhere to separation of church and state requirements as addressed in the Idaho State Code.
- Demonstrate respect and support for individual faith groups.
- Demonstrate human relations and effective communication skills.
Qualifications
- Candidate must have completed 4 quarters of Clinical Pastoral Education and be certified.
- Candidate must be eligible for or possess BCCI Certification.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
- One year hospice/health care chaplain experience. Exposure to grief, death and dying issues.
- Ability to drive, working vehicle, current on insurance.
- Multi-cultural, inter-denominational religious/spirituality experience.
