Summary of Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position is responsible for managing the General Ledger of the Organization and other partner organizations. This role serves in an advisory capacity to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), CFO, and Chief Operating Officer (COO) on finance matters. This person ensures proper and prudent use of funds and supports the CFO in ensuring the overall financial health of the Organization. Operations are conducted in adherence to all policies, procedures, and regulations and in accordance with the mission and vision of the Organization.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

Analysis & Assessment

Assess and ensure the overall financial health of the Organization. As a result of ongoing assessment and analysis, provide Officers with recommendations on policy, practices, and approaches.

Auditing

Coordinates and assists with auditing processes as needed and serves as the lead role during the annual Financial Audit.

Oversight and Management

Coordinates monthly closing including bank reconciliations, oversees timely year-end closing, manages, and processes company credit card operations, and serves as the backup as 401(k) Administrator.

Reporting

Prepare and provide reports to the Board of Directors and Officers as needed. Additionally, this position supports financial reporting for the Organization.

Collaboration

Collaborates with team members including assisting with software implementation involving fiscal management/payroll functions for the Organization as needed.

Education & Experience:

Required: MA or MS in Finance or Accounting. 10 years of experience with at least seven of those years in an upper/senior management capacity.

Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and experience with a non-profit organization or government entity.

Employment Requirements:

Automobile and Valid Insurance, Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License, acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Check, Act 33 and Act 34 Clearances, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, Social Security Card, Immigration and Naturalization (I-9), Drug Screening Clearance

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods working on a computer in an open office or home environment and comfortable communicating through virtual technology. While this position is primarily remote, there may be a need for travel within the SAM footprint for an in-person meeting.
