Our company is an established shop that specializes in industrial, structural, and custom fabrication. We are expanding our CAD team and looking for someone that takes pride in their work and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in Solidworks and 3d design. Specific industry experience with steel design would be of value in this position. This is a fulltime position with the possibility of overtime depending on work load. 

Ideal Candidate Will:

Be honest, trustworthy, and manage time well. Have a deep understanding of 3d modeling software, and be able to keep revisions, files, and projects organized and updated throughout their lifecycle. Experience implementing and managing a PDM would be a huge asset. Computer proficiency and familiarity with Autodesk, Fusion 360, Solidworks, or similar CAD software is required.

General skills needed:

  • 3d Modeling Software experience
  • Blueprint reading / generation
  • High computer / technology skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication
  • Prior construction / mechanical experience a bonus
  • Familiarity with weld specifications and AWS symbols
  • Familiarity with AISC and AWS standards

Scope of projects will vary from complex large assemblies to small custom single parts. Coordination with engineering teams and clients to meet job requirements will occur. Having an understanding of the manufacturing process would be beneficial in determining design aspects, critical dimensions, and tolerances.
