JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION: In the Routing Coordinator position, you will be responsible for the utilization of strong communication and organization skills to work with drivers, trainees and sales to resolve issues related to deliveries. Utilization of automated routing tools to route loads to the customers. Based out of our Louisa, KY warehouse, you will be an essential part of our team that has been servicing customers and delivering fine foods since 1942.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Creates routing schedules for delivery trucks in the safest most efficient manner (creating the shortest and safest routes possible to minimize driver overtime) while considering the weight and balance distribution of material on the truck and assembles work orders according to truck routes for loaders
- Review work orders for the correct delivery truck route.
- Sets up daily tractor/trailer assignments for drivers
- Updates driver and trainee dispatch schedules daily.
- Break down work orders and separate them according to the assigned truck route.
- Sets up the most efficient delivery route for each truck, assigning the best sequence of deliveries to customers.
- Route the work orders for routing logs so that the material can be loaded on the trucks in delivery order (first on, last off).
- Perform other material handler duties as assigned by the management.
- Prepares daily records and memos and maintains filing system for Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
- Coordinate and assigns backhaul requests to accurately route.
- Apply credit memos and item pick-up lists to corresponding customers
- Communicate with route drivers to fill in for vacations and sick days.
- Assign trainees to heavily loaded routes accordingly.
- Coordinate and maintain customer keys for key drop locations
- Prepare invoices for shuttle drivers
- Keep supervisor updated on customer delivery and driver problems
- Perform tasks as assigned by Supervisor
- Promote a positive company image to customers and fellow employees.
