Buyer I

Job Overview: As a Buyer I at Cobalt Truck Equipment, you will play a crucial role in supporting our procurement activities at the local site, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, parts, and components necessary for our truck upfitting operations. This position offers a great opportunity for career growth and development within our rapidly expanding company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules to ensure the best value for the company.
  2. Purchase Order Processing: Generate and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently. Verify order details, including quantities, specifications, and delivery dates.
  3. Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet production requirements while minimizing excess stock. Work closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure optimal inventory management.
  4. Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and market research to identify cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
  5. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that purchased products meet the specified standards and requirements.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and finance, to streamline processes and resolve any procurement-related issues.
  7. Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, including pricing, delivery dates, and vendor information.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the procurement function.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with TREQSO software is a plus.
