Job Description:

The Practice Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and overseeing the overall operation of the Pathology practices.

Responsibilities:

Working with the PathLink group, the Practice Manager will:

  1. Promote the Mission and Vision of the organization;
  2. Work collaboratively with medical and clinical staff, Hospital administration, laboratory and pathology personnel and PathLink to implement policies and procedures;
  3. Assist the Medical Director and COO in monitoring quality indicators and developing and implementing quality initiatives.;
  4. Assist in the development and use of PI monitoring tools for the practices and monitoring of PI results;
  5. Complete departmental-related reports as required or requested;
  6. Work with the Medical Director to ensure timely submission of On-going Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE) for the Pathologists;
  7. Assist the Medical Director in daily scheduling, time off, on call and special need coverage;
  8. Assist in preparation for regulatory review of the department as requested/needed;
  9. Coordinate pertinent educational programs for pathologists;
  10. Meet regularly with pathologists and staff to discuss operational issues; works cooperatively with Medical Director to establish agenda and action plans;
  11. Work with PathLink Business Manager and group’s billing company to ensure an effective and appropriate billing and coding process;
  12. Maintain confidentiality of all physician, staff and organizational information according to policies and procedures;
  13. Follow all established organizational policies and procedures;
  14. Assist with need for supplies, equipment, space and other resources for the department while maintaining a cost-conscious attitude;
  15. Maintain supply of printed materials for providers;
  16. Maintain updated contact list (group phone numbers, email addresses)
  17. Follow proper safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment;
  18. Travel required between New Jersey hospitals
  19. Adhere to Dress Code.

Qualifications:

Related education, training, experience required:

  • Well-developed communication and prioritizing skills;
  • Computer proficiency with emphasis on basic word processing and spreadsheet applications in a Windows environment;
  • Ability to process assigned duties in an efficient and organized manner and meet expectations of the practice;
  • Close attention to detail;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve problems and discrepancies;
  • Ability to work extra hours and put forth extra effort when needed;
  • Ability to exhibit leadership by demonstrating a commitment to teamwork, supporting alignment with company, hospital and department goals and objectives, assisting others in development of their knowledge of the company, hospital and department, adapting to change in a positive manner that exemplifies commitment, and working proactively with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to resolve conflict by persuading others through explanation to accept a course of action and by approaching conflict from a positive viewpoint rather than a negative one;
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing;
  • Significant experience managing and developing programs and/or practices;
  • Experience with system design and implementation;
  • Significant knowledge of billing and documentation standards;
  • Knowledge of regulatory agencies and requirements.
