Licensed Practical Nurse ED

LPN on ED is responsible for direct patient care to all patients within the department. The position will work collaboratively with all department members to implement and evaluate the patient's physical, psychological, emotional, educational and spiritual needs under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills are required as well as being able to interact with people from a variety of cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ability to communicate in a clear and respectful manner with both patients and co-workers.
- Dispenses medication within scope of practice and accurately documents in patients EMR.
- Obtaining data related to patient care and recording accurately in the patients EMR.
- Reports abnormal findings or changes in mental, and emotional conditions of the patient to the RN. Examples include changes in vital signs, abnormal weight gain or loss, inability to locate a fetal heart rate, increase in pain, etc....
- Responds promptly to call bells and patient needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Preferred but not expected
- Licensure: Current NYS LPN license.
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g. use of the computer keyboard) light lifting in regards to patient care. Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time as it pertains to patient care. Must be physically able to operate the equipment used for the job.

Pay Range Disclosure:
- $24.04 to $32.21 per hour
