We have an immediate need for in-person English & Language Arts Tutors for grades 7 - 12. As a tutor, you will be responsible for leading one-on-one or small group sessions in-person. 


MUST BE ABLE TO DO IN PERSON SESSIONS WITH CLIENTS.

The Opportunity

BrainStorm Tutoring is seeking dynamic and articulate individuals to join our high-caliber corps of Academic Mentors and Specialized Academic Coaches. Our academic mentors are experts at motivating and engaging their students through meaningful relationships and a customized approach to an individual’s needs. This is a unique opportunity to join a community of passionate teachers and to contribute to the education of local youth. 


  • Work with students in a one-to-one setting  or small group sessions IN PERSON
  • Ability to build a healthy and encouraging rapport with students
  • Flexible schedule M-F during school-day hours, or afternoon/evenings
  • 10-30 hours a week, at your discretion 
  • Rate depends on credentials/experience: $28 - $35 per hour

The Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or college-level student or above with experience in english or reading tutoring
  • Possess reliable transportation for in-person meetings
  • Must be willing to work with students in person (inside someone else’s home, or our center, etc.)
  • Teaching/tutoring experience preferred but not required.
  • Pass a Background Check
  • All experience levels are welcome to apply – recent grads, graduate students, current teachers, & retired professionals
