Our client, a Spring Valley, NV based Precious Metals and Trading Services Company, is seeking a Production/Application Support Analyst to join their growing team This exciting role is Direct Hire opportunity. Our client is seeking an individual local to their Spring Valley office so they can work on-site 5 days a week. This position is not offering sponsorship at this time.
Job Summary:
As a Production Support / Application Support Analyst, you will perform various functions in order to ensure that all the applications, databases as well as the IT systems run smoothly, and that the customer inquiries are appropriately addressed. You will provide first and second line of IT support, resolving technical queries, and communicating solutions directly to customers. You will also coordinate with the IT Support team on troubleshooting and implementing network and PC changes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, prioritize, and resolve issues and work requests through our ticketing system.
- Responsible for improving and documenting the technical processes around the production support.
- Work collaboratively with Account Managers to handle change requests, approvals.
- Handle off-hours deployment schedules including afterhours and weekend work from time to time.
- Create and maintain reports using Crystal Reports and SSRS.
- Create and run SQL server scripts, jobs, and stored procedures to support production users and resolve issues.
- Monitor and maintain SQL server replication.
- Maintain SQL server permissions.
- Perform day-to-day monitoring of applications/databases, initiate troubleshooting/mitigation of issues reported from alerts, health check failures, database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
- Detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
- Assist third party network engineers with disaster recovery tests.
- Manage and monitor database backups and restores.
- Develop scripts/jobs to automate repeatable manual tasks.
- Monitor the deployment of Application patches.
- Setup users and assist the IT Support team with the management of Windows Active Directory.
- Assist the IT Support team in resolving network, pc, and phone issues, configuring hardware, phones and other devices, and implementing data security.
- Assist the IT Support team in supporting the Azure environment.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow things through.
- Excellent prioritization and time management.
- Ability to balance multiple time-critical tasks at the same time.
- Ability to present and absorb complex ideas quickly and accurately.
- Have an open attitude towards sharing ideas and knowledge and receiving constructive feedback.
- Knowledge of windows server, security delegation, SPNs, storage components.
- Knowledge of VMware or virtual servers.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience working on Incident, Event and Availability management.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience supporting.Net applications.
- 4+ years of experience writing queries, stored procedures, debugging application and database issues in Microsoft SQL Server 2014-2019
- 3+ years of database management.
- 3+ years of experience with Crystal Reports or SSRS.
- 2+ years of software development experience in C# and .Net technologies and best practices.
- Extensive experience 'Manually' debugging of web base apps that have been in production
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field. 4+ years relevant experience with Undergraduate Degree.
