POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading the Mechanic/Electrical Technicians during shift to ensure line performance targets are achieved such as equipment uptime and line efficiency. Also, this individual will ensure safety practices and rules are followed. Competency of electrical and mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting is required. This position also involves assisting in project installations and commissioning.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Plan and schedule the preventive maintenance program for equipment and facility.

• Lead and oversee a team of Mechanic/Electrical Technicians during shifts to ensure the smooth functioning of equipment and production lines.

• Promptly troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate the swift solutions to minimize downtime and maintain optimal productivity.

• Ensuring compliance to safe practices and rules.

• Assist Engineers in the installation and commissioning of new projects, providing technical support and guidance as needed.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as QA and Production) to ensure the production lines run in the highest efficiency.

• Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the team.

• Work with the team to develop and implement Annual Investment Budget aligned with the company objectives.

• Train and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills and operational efficiency.

• Maintain records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and performance for future reference and analysis.

• Act as a liaison between management and the technical team, conveying updates, challenges, and recommendations.

• Other duties may be assigned as needed from time to time.

SUPERVISORY RESPONBILITIES

This position needs to supervise a team of Mechanical/Electrical Technicians.


QUALIFICATIONS

A. EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or above from 4-year college or university in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or technical field; and have at least 15 years of supervisory or project management experience in food industry and 10 years of preventive maintenance program experience.

• Solid knowledge and experience in Mechanical and Electrical fields in food processing equipment.

• Familiar with Food Processing equipment and its design.

• Strong field trouble shooting experience; hands on PLC (500) troubleshoot experience or program writing.

• Able to use Auto CAD, spreadsheet and presentation programs.

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and operational Safety programs.

• Knowledge and experience of GMP, SSOP, ISO and ERP system are a plus.

• Familiar with MS Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel).

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

• Ability to effectively present information to management and/or public groups.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

• Ability to read and comprehend equipment manuals and electrical diagrams for set-up control loops.

• Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Good interpersonal skills, able to interact with different levels of employees/peers and different functions.


B. LANGUAGE SKILLS

• High proficiency in English is required.

• Bilingual in English and Chinese/ Spanish is a plus.


C. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
