Our Baraga Lumber Division is seeking highly motivated and team-oriented individuals to join our sawmill team in Baraga, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the production of high-quality lumber products.

Role Summary:
As a Saw Filer at our Baraga facility, you will play a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and operational integrity of our saw equipment. You will be responsible for the maintenance, alignment, and preventive care of our machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on saw blades and sawmill equipment, ensuring they are sharp and properly set for optimal performance.
• Conduct machine alignments and adjustments to maintain precision cutting and minimize downtime.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce the risk of equipment failure and extend the life of sawmill machinery.
• Collaborate with the mill maintenance team to troubleshoot and solve equipment-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and blade performance.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
• Stay current with the latest saw filing techniques and technologies to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of saw operations.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Saw Filer, Saw Doctor, or in a similar role within a sawmill or related environment.
• Strong mechanical skills and understanding of sawmill equipment and operations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in saw filing or related field is preferred.
