Summer Counselor in Training

Do you love working with youth, teaching tennis, volleyball, and wellness, and encouraging kids to have fun and grow? As a Summer Counselor in Training with ANTS (America’s Next Talented Stars), you’ll help run a fantastic 2024 outdoor summer tennis and volleyball camp in Piedmont.

You’ll be working with a small team of other coaches teaching elementary-aged students how to play tennis and volleyball through a fun & positive lens. By the end of the summer, you will understand practically and philosophically how to coach tennis and volleyball to K-5th youth using the ANTS effectively game-based principles.

Coach in Training Responsibilities

• Show up on time with positive energy and lead a FUN & safe daily half-day summer camp for kids ages 5-11

• Help teach the FUNdamentals of tennis and volleyball through a cohesive and game-filled lesson plan.
• Gain an overall knowledge of summer camp operations
• Attend ANTS Tennis and Volleyball training and orientation with the ANTS Director
• Interact cooperatively and positively with all other ANTS staff, children, parents, and community members
• Ensure a safe, fun, and reliable program for all children
• Set up before and clean up after your program
• Creatively solve problems on the fly
• First-aid/CPR certified (provided by ANTS)

Location:

ANTS summer camps will run at a park in Piedmont.

Tennis Camp Schedule:

Our upcoming summer camp season runs Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. You must be available for the entire season window:

• June 3rd – June 7th
• June 10th – June 14th
• June 17th – June 21st
• June 24th – June 28th
• July 8th – July 12th
• July 15th – July 19th
• July 22nd – July 26th
• July 29th – Aug 2nd
• Aug 5th - Aug 9th

Volleyball Camp Schedule:

Our upcoming summer camp season runs Monday through Friday from 1 pm to 4 pm. You must be available for the entire season window:

• June 3rd – June 7th
• June 17th – June 21st (not June 19th)
• July 8th – July 12th
• July 15th – July 19th

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a school program and interested in learning sports coaching.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Ability to work with kids and provide a safe and fun environment.
• *This is an unpaid summer internship role
