Job Description

This position will assist senior design personnel in developing and completing designs and contract documents for bridges and civil structures. This role will also assist in the preparation and checking of design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, and project plans. Additional duties may include field assessment and inspection of structures and facilities.

Self-motivated, technically proficient, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Travel periodically within Arizona and neighboring states and be physically capable of performing field work.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or able to obtain in 6 months of hire
  • Minimum entry level
  • Bridge and civil structures experience including performance of preliminary and final designs/calculations, preparation of quantities and cost estimates, and preparation of plans.
  • Experience in using bridge and structure design and analysis software, including spreadsheet and finite element programs
  • Have experience and have familiarity with structure design codes and guidelines
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Open Roads Designer and Open Bridge Modeler desired.
  • Project Wise experience is a plus
  • InRoads and Civil 3D experience a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Must have solid skills in the following areas: planning and scheduling; organization; problem solving; and decision
  • Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier
