INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN
Overview:
Amalgamated Sugar, a leading player in the food production industry specializing in sugar production, is seeking a proficient and dedicated Instrument Technician to join our team in Twin Falls. The Instrument Technician role is central to our operations, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and calibration of various instrumentation devices. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the smooth running of our production processes, directly impacting the quality of our end product.

Key Responsibilities:
- Instrumentation Maintenance: Install, maintain, and calibrate various instrumentation devices, including valves, analytical instrumentation, level, temperature, pressure, flow devices, and static and continuous weighing systems.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot individual devices and understand their impact on the process to ensure smooth operations.
- New Installations: Perform new installations, including fitting instruments, running conduit, wiring panels, and reading and understanding electrical and P&ID blueprints. Execute initial setup procedures efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Work in full compliance with approved safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with co-workers, engineers, plant management, and external vendors to ensure the highest standards of operational excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with industrial controls and instrumentation
- PLC troubleshooting experience required
- Experience working with multimeters and ability to measure 5v to 120v and 4-20 loop
- Experience with the calibration of flow meters and flow sensors
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) a plus
- Highschool or GED required; Electrical license or Associates in Automation or Applied Science or Instrumentation highly preferred
