PURPOSE
Perform lumberyard related tasks involving physical labor at our warehouse located in Rochester, MN and at customer locations. This is a temporary position (4-5 months) that could turn into a full-time position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Operate hand and power tools of various types such as: drill, saw, air hammers, etc
- Clean and prepare sites.
- Assist in maintaining tools and equipment: Lubricate, clean and repair.
- Able to obtain a Forklift License through the company's training program.
- To have proper dress attire. NO Shorts allowed.
- Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Truck Maintenance Report any issues to Yard Foreman or Asst. Yard foreman.
- Follow all directives of the yard Foreman/ Asst. Yard Foreman & Branch mangers.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties assigned by Yard Managers.
- Read and understand warning signs and labels on construction site equipment.
- Understand and follow all company safety regulations.
- Site Cleanliness: Pick up tools, and storing tools, equipment, and materials.
- Conduct your work and actions with integrity.
- Attend regularly scheduled safety meetings and trainings.
- Retain instructions from Yard Manager.
- Take initiative in learning new tasks.
- Build strong leadership qualities here and at customer site.
