This position works independently and with other team members at the headquarters of Mountain Counseling & Training, Inc., and frequent visits to the family's home and a variety of community and/or treatment settings. This position works directly with children and adults. This position works exclusively with clients in San Bernardino County Dept. of Behavioral Health programs.

Conducting intake assessments: preparing diagnostic evaluations which includes obtaining personal, social, emotional, and substance abuse history; determining the cause, nature and severity of the client's current mental status. Conducting on-going assessments and reporting data to Clinic Supervisor and Program Manager.

Creating, implementing, and executing goal-oriented Client Recovery Plans.

Providing rehabilitative and socialization services to restore and maintain the best possible functional level of clients with emotional or mental health issues.

Providing direct therapy services in clinic, school, or community environment.

Intervening in crisis situations when a client exhibits acute psychiatric symptoms which present an immediate threat to the client or others.

Working with treatment team to manage and implement changes to treatment team or recovery plan. Participating in the staff review of a case recommending changes in therapeutic techniques, environment, and/or charting to facilitate patient recovery, or transition to lower level of care.

Assisting clients, families, and significant others (e.g. teachers, caregivers, baby-sitters) in the client's life in understanding the nature of their physical, mental, or emotional disorder. Provides emotional support and information to assist them in identifying external stressors that contribute to the client's problems.

Conducting various types of support groups, classes, wellness and recovery activities, and recreational activities for clients at the clinic, school or community sites.

Maintaining 65% Productivity with regard to Medi-Cal billing requirements.

Completing documentation within Medi-Cal requirements (with state-of-the-art electronic health records systems)

Completing administrative processes required for the delivery of services (e.g. releases of information, child abuse reports, completion of county required outcome measures, scheduling services, etc.)

Other duties as assigned

Participating in on-call “hot line” or “warm line” programs to provide 24/7 responsiveness to client needs in accordance with current policy and assignments. During such periods as covering such programs, consuming no substance which may tend to impair ability to perform responsibilities. Occasional on-call component, requires that staff be on location within 20 minutes of receiving a call



Registration with Board of Behavioral Science with Intern Number assigned (MFT Track)

At least 1 year experience working with emotionally disturbed youth

Bilingual English Spanish preferred

Located within 20 minutes of Crestline Location preferred
