Location: Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD

Position Summary –

  • System integration consists of upgrades, testing and configuration of network components on the Emulation Test Bed such as traffic stimulation (i.e., TGEN), Linux (Red Hat) administration and scripting.
  • Support system testing by performing various tasks utilizing knowledge and experience in networking technologies; Routing, Switching, vlans, STP, OSPF protocols, Firewalls.
  • Implement test-scenario development, network traffic stimulation (e.g., TGEN), system configurations, test-run execution and monitoring, network-data capture, data storage, and post-test database generation.
  • Technical knowledge in LAN/WAN networks, virtualization technologies, including install, configure, and operate simple-routed LAN, routed WAN, and switched LAN and access lists, IP RIP, route redistribution, RIP, route summarization, OSPF, VLANs, Ethernet, VMWare ESXi.
  • Data analysis entails analyzing the network data collected from the test runs and producing data products. This includes 1) developing relevant performance metrics (e.g., throughput, latency, packet completion rate, etc.); 2) producing network topology graphs and correlating its impact on network connectivity during the test run; and 3) identifying anomalous network behavior and providing explanations and/or directions on how to resolve the issue.
  • Troubleshoot external network issues as they arise.
  • Perform other duties as required.
